Salons Could Open In June
Ladies all around the country have had to neglect their hair and nails since March after the government forced all salons to close following the coronavirus outbreak. However, many of us will be relieved to hear it could just a matter of weeks before they begin to open again.
Last week, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced an ease of lockdown restrictions, allowing non-essential stores to welcome the public again from June 15th, while some primary school years will begin to go back over the next few days.
This has prompted everyone asking how long it will be before they can get their hair cut, their legs waxed or go for a refreshing facial.
Although nothing has been confirmed yet, the government claimed they could open on July 4th at the earliest, which will come as great news to the 11,000 salons across the UK, as well as women everywhere!
Speaking on This Morning, health secretary Matt Hancock said: “We are working on what it would look like to have the protective equipment, exactly as you say, in place.”
Meanwhile, TV host Ruth Langsford quizzed the politician on his own haircut, to which he responded that his wife cut it and “did a fantastic job”.
Some salon owners have been preparing to open for weeks, with one telling the BBC she has removed the waiting area, built booths and knocked down walls to improve safety in the premises.
Baz Rifat said: “We’ve been spacing it out so we’ve got social distancing.”
While ladies are eagerly awaiting the opening of their favourite salon, they can still make themselves feel good by wearing luxury British underwear underneath their lockdown clothes.
